What is recorded here

Castle Toward is a nineteenth-century Gothic Revival country house completed in 1820 for Kirkman Finlay, standing beside the ruined medieval home of the Clan Lamont. The castle later became HMS Brontosaurus during the Second World War before passing through public education and private ownership. Its grounds still hold Chinese ponds, wooded paths and views across the Firth of Clyde, while the older ruins remain nearby like a forgotten shadow.
