What is recorded here

Toward Castle is a medieval tower house in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, built to watch the water and command the land around it. Its stones still stand where they were set, holding the shape of a home that once answered to danger and daily life alike. People may have climbed its stairs in haste or sat in its rooms in quiet certainty, knowing the tower could resist what the sea and sky brought toward it.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Toward Castle as Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Toward Castle is a medieval tower house located in Kintyre, Scotland, and was built in the 16th century by the MacDowalls, a local landholding family. It is remembered as a notable example of a defensive residence in the region and as historically associated with the Clan MacDougall.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
