Though the Cistercian abbey (TS083-017----) no longer survives, fragments are incorportated in 19th-century C of I church which was built on or near the site of the monastery. These include a Romanesque doorway in the W wall, above the W door. Two orders consist of keeled rolls with scalloped capitals, dated c. 1180-1200 (Stalley 1987, 246-7). The engaged columns and bases are missing. Vegetal decoration springing from the capitals in the hollow mould. The outer order and hood-moulding are 15th-century additions.
