Holy Trinity Chantry College occupied County Cork from 1482 until ruin in 1670, preserving a seven-panel mantel now displayed in Crawford Art Gallery. Excavations beneath Christ Church Lane revealed a twenty-metre limestone chamber where young men likely debated faith beside warm hearths. Goold founded the college to sustain prayer, yet time reduced his vision to buried walls and one ornamental fragment.

Holy Trinity Chantry College, founded in 1482 by Philip Goold, rector of Holy Trinity (CO074-03409-); in ruins by 1670. Mantel piece preserved in Crawford Art Gallery; ornamented with seven decorated panels and inscription 1585 (Bradley et al. 1985, 66). Excavations on site in 1975 located some remains along S side of Christ Church Lane to S of present church; rectangular stone building (20m x 8m) of cut limestone blocks surviving to height of 3m above foundation course (Twohig 1975, 9).
