What is recorded here

Sheepfold is a defaced square hut on the NW slopes of Farraniaragh, overlooking Balinskelligs Bay. Its thick rubble walls and narrow northern entrance suggest a place built to withstand Atlantic storms rather than invite comfort. Clearance cairns and cultivation ridges beside it hint that people lived here long enough to shape the land, tending sheep or growing food on the terrace before the sea mist claimed the roof.

On a natural terrace on the NW slopes of Farraniaragh, overlooking Balinskelligs Bay to W. A defaced square hut with an entrance at N, .7m wide. The wall, now a rubble core, has an average width of 2.8m. Clearance cairns and old cultivation ridges are visible in the near vicinity. D: 5.3m x 4.1m. The above description is derived from A.
