What is recorded here
According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 1640 in 'Allinbourke & pt of Moneenekile' the proprietor is listed as 'John Bourke of Allin Irish Papist' and 'Uppon the sd lands stands one thatcht house' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 45). Th 17th century townland of 'Allinbourke' appears to correspond with the modern townlands of Alleen (Hogan) and Lisheenfrankagh. The house referred to is unlocated within these townlands.
