Structure

A plank (Wth 0.26m; D 0.095m) in the peat face of a private bog adjacent to the Bord na Móna bog. A number of displaced plank fragments and woodchips are present on the bog surface in the vicinity. The relationship between this material and the plank is unclear. The plank was dendrochronologically dated to 1081±9 BC or later (Q9788). Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
