Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Aghaderry — Report the wrong picture

Half a kilometre from the Aghaderry church stands a circular earthwork on a drumlin, its bank and ditch still marking a boundary drawn before written memory. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the shape resisted ordinary explanation or because the land itself seemed to breathe beneath the grass. Whether human hands built it or imagination shaped it later, the ring remains visible, waiting for someone to walk its edge and ask what it kept.

Situated on top of a drumlin. This is a circular overgrown area (int. diam. 30.5m ENE-WSW) that slopes down slightly to the SE, which is defined by an earthen bank (at S: Wth of base 4.8m; Wth of top 0.8m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 2.1m) and an outer fosse (at S: Wth of top 3.8m; Wth of base 1.6m; ext. D 0.8m) that had been deepened NW-E-SE. There is an entrance (Wth of base 1.6m) at ESE that may be modern.
