Gallan is a triangular standing stone in West Cork, aligned northeast to southwest on a north-facing pasture slope. It stands ninety-five centimetres tall, sixty centimetres wide and twenty-five centimetres deep, small enough to be overlooked yet distinct enough to mark the land. Cattle may have walked past it for generations, unaware that its edges still point across the valley like a quiet arrow thrown into time.
