RATH & Man-made underground passage in Cornoonagh

RATH & Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Under Cornoonagh in County Armagh, a man-made passage still cuts through the earth beside an old rath. Built in the early Christian period, it may have hidden people, goods or prayer from storms and invaders. The darkness inside is not empty; it is shaped, deliberate and waiting to be remembered.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH & Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
