RATH & Man-made underground passage in Carnaff

RATH & Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Beneath Carnaff in County Antrim, a man-made passage still cuts through ancient earth. Built during the early Christian period, the hidden workspace may have served worship, refuge or ordinary domestic life. Its exact function has faded, but the deliberate shape of the tunnel remains clear.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH & Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
