Mortars and rails no longer mark the line, but the Rath in Timaconway still stands as a chambered tomb from before Christ. Inside its dark stone room, human bones may have waited for centuries while rain washed the Derry fields above. The dead did not vanish when empires changed; they kept their shape beneath the grass, unchanged by every war fought later around them.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
