RATH in Tavnaghmore

RATH

What is recorded here

Mortars and chambers still mark the Tavnaghmore Rath, though no scaffold or owner is recorded. A man may have stood inside the circle at dawn, reading the sky before writing or markets existed. The chamber is not empty; it is waiting for somebody young enough to remember that measuring and witnessing are not the same thing.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
