RATH in Enagh

RATH

What is recorded here

Enagh holds a rath, an ancient earthwork where human hands shaped the land before written memory. The official record preserves only its name and kind, leaving the lives inside it to imagination. Perhaps it was a home, a refuge or a marker of local authority, but the silence around it is not emptiness. It is a gap waiting for witness, testimony and time.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
