RATH in Deehommed

RATH

What is recorded here

Deehommed still holds the Rath, a circular earthwork from the early Christian period that men shaped before written history. It stands scheduled in County Down, preserving the labour of hands that no longer speak. The land remembers the shape of their effort even when their names have vanished.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
