RATH in Ballymaglave North

RATH

What is recorded here

Ballymaglave North still holds a rath, an ancient earthwork scheduled for protection long before modern cameras existed. Whether people lived inside its ridge or fled storms behind it, the soil remembers hands that shaped it. The official point marks the centre of that forgotten labour, not the whole of it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
