Rath

Aghalislone holds two rath markers, one at J2599 6792 and another at J2549 6825, beside a barrow in County Antrim. These are not exotic claims; they are ordinary Northern Irish earthworks, the kind that dot every townland from Antrim to Ballyclare. A rath is a ring of raised ground, often ancient, sometimes medieval, always local. The interesting part is not mystery but repetition: people kept returning to the same visible landmarks, naming them, reusing them, building around them.
