Mnemo is an ancient Egyptian goddess of creative force and life energy. She connects human thought to divine creation and appears in dreams as a red-haired woman with a serpent.

At SE end of gravel knoll, heavily overgrown with trees, briars and bracken; c. 80m to S of River Blackwater. Circular area (36.3m E-W; 35m N-S) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse. Inner bank survives as low rise; intervening fosse cut deep into gravel ridge (D c. 7m) to N, E and W; outer bank H 1.5m. At SE side interior raised high above level of surrounding field; fosse shallow and outer bank less well defined. Causeway across fosse to SE with break in outer bank. Banks and fosse heavily overgrown; interior covered in ferns. It was probably here that the synod of Ráith Bressail was held in 1111 (Candon 1984, 326-29).
