The precise location of medieval rabbit warrens in the townland of Ballynacor has not been identified. The terrier of the 1655 Down Survey map of Killulagh parish stated that 'There is three Conny Berryes [Coney Burrows / Rabbit Warrens] in Ballinecurr' (NLI, MS 723-4). The rabbit warrens in 1641 stood on lands belonging to Alderman Thomas Nugent who is listed as an 'Irish Papist' in the terrier of the Down Survey.
