Situated in a low-lying position on the N bank of a SW-NE section of the Owengar River c. 1km from its confluence with the NW corner of Lough Allen. This is the site of a Roman Catholic church, known locally as the 'Old Bog Church', which was dedicated to St Bridget and built in 1770 (Gallogly 1993-4, 433). It replaced the church at Kilbride (LE018-028---) and served as the parish church until the present church of St. Bridget was built in Drumkeeran in 1869. Traces of the foundations of a T-shaped building (max. dim. c. 36m), of which the stem at NW and the NE arm (dims 12.5m x 6m) can be distinguished, lie within a small rectangular field which has no evidence of burial.
