R. C. Chapel (in Ruins)

At the N end of Inchigeelagh. The 1842 OS 6-inch map shows a T-shaped 'R.C. Chapel' on the E side of the village street c. 100m to S of present church (CO081-014003-), on site of, or incorporated into, present parish hall; this is probably the church which Lewis (1837, vol. 2, 15) described as 'built in 1820, and considerably enlarged in 1830'.
