Promontory fort is a promontory fort, inland in Carrowcashel (tirerrill By., Riverstown Ed), County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies a rocky bluff at the north end of a low narrow ridge, with a roughly rectangular end measuring 28 metres north-south and 17 metres east-west. Steep slopes topped by low field boundary walls define the east, north and west sides, while a one-metre scarp drops irregularly to the south, where the Castle Douglas site stands eight metres away.

In pasture, occupying a rocky bluff at the N end of a low narrow ridge. The roughly rectangular end of the bluff (28m N-S; 17m E-W) is defined to E, N and W by steep slopes topped by low field boundary walls, and to S by a scarp (H c. 1m) which slopes irregularly down to S. The site of Castle Douglas (SL027-124001-) is c. 8m to S.
