Promontory fort

Promontory fort, coastal

What is recorded here

Promontory fort stands on a Cork coast cliff where ancient people trusted steep rock and seawater to do half the work of keeping intruders out. They likely built only the missing parts, leaving the cliff edge to threaten what human hands would not shape. The sea remains the true guardrail, changing the fort's boundaries with every storm and exposing the confidence of people who understood that nature could be made into a wall.
