Promontory fort stands on a coastal edge in County Cork, Ireland. Its stones and earth still mark the boundary between land and sea, waiting for people to remember why they built it. The ocean has spent centuries rewriting the shape of the shore, but the fort remains a visible claim that someone once watched the water and defended the edge.
