Prison in Dublin South City

Prison

What is recorded here

Clarke places a prison inside Dublin Castle around 1224, but the exact chamber has vanished without a trace. It operated in shadow long enough to leave no visible scar, then disappeared completely before 1606. The building swallowed its own history, leaving behind only a vague mention and a empty space where fear once lived.
Clarke mentions the former existence of a prison in Dublin Castle in c. 1224, gone by 1606 (2002, 23). Not precisely located.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
