On N side of Blackwater River. Identified during field-study project (1983-5). Small scatter of flint artefacts including slug knife and bifacially worked flake - possibly projectile point; Neolithic/Early Bronze Age in date (pers. comm. Prof. P.C. Woodman). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
