What is recorded here
Ballymoyer Old Church stands scheduled in Ballintemple, preserving a post-medieval worship place and graveyard whose origins stretch to the uncertain eighteenth century. The site still holds the shape of repeated prayer, burial and memory, even when the exact building has vanished from sight. People may have gathered there for baptism, marriage and mourning long before modern roads passed the field.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as POST-MED CHURCH; GRAVEYARD: BALLYMOYER OLD CHURCH or LISDROMAUDE. Recorded period: POST-MED; UNCERTAIN; C18TH. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Post-medieval ecclesiastical site and graveyard; 18th century. Likely associated with the Lisdromauke estate, it represents later Christian worship and burial practices in the area.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
