Freestanding cast-iron round-plan pillar postbox, erected c. 1935, having shallow domed cap and plinth base, raised insignia 'P&T' (Poist agus Teileagrafa) to front (north) face, moulded neck and dentillated frieze to cap and maker's mark 'Jessop Davis Enniscorthy' to plinth. Located at east side of Marino Park at junction with Brian Road.

This high-quality piece of street furniture is illustrative of the mass-produced cast-ironwork created by the Jessop Davis foundry of Enniscorthy in the early twentieth century. The insignia, in Gaelic script, dates the box to the early years of the Irish state, providing subtle artistic as well as contextual interest. This postbox constitutes a working, functional component of Dublin's heritage, adding to the overall character of the suburb of Marino.
