Cast-iron post box, built c. 1915, with G.R., insignia and crown. Set in wall opposite railway station.
Finely crafted post-box produced during the short rein of George IV. Relatively few of these post-boxes were produced, and fewer still survive in the countryside. Together with Cobh Junction Station, it forms one of a pleasant and practical grouping of public amenities in the landscape.
