Porth-cadjack Cove in Cornwall consists of sedimentary rocks, primarily Devonian-age slates and shales, formed from accumulated marine sediments under heat and pressure. The cove is notable for its well-exposed coastal cliffs, which provide a clear section through the lower Devonian Penzance Group, of interest to geologists studying the region's Palaeozoic history.
