Port nam Mairtir is a coastal rock feature composed of Devonian sandstone, formed around 400 million years ago through the deposition and cementation of sediment in a shallow marine environment. It is notable for its exposure of resistant sedimentary layers that contribute to the rugged topography of the Argyll and Bute coastline.
