What is recorded here

Port Erradale features sea cliffs composed primarily of Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rocks in the British Isles, dating back approximately 2.7 to 3 billion years. These highly metamorphosed rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through intense heat and pressure, and are notable for their durability and role in the geological history of the Scottish Highlands.
