After the Second World War Polish Soldiers of the 3rd Carpathian Division arrived at Riddlesworth Camp from Italy and lived here with their families.
The Polish Memorial commemorates the service of Polish soldiers, particularly those of the 3rd Carpathian Division, who were stationed at Riddlesworth Camp after World War II. It is important as a symbol of post-war Polish military presence in the UK and their contribution to Allied efforts.
