PLATFORM RATH in Kilfullert

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

One platform rath still stands in Kilfullert, County Down. It is no longer a complete wall or a clear castle edge, but the land may have carried a raised home before the current field swallowed it. People may have lived there, watched the land, or left it to decay. The name preserves what the soil still holds.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
