Half-buried in Longford peat, a forgotten oak beam still holds five woven sails above the mud. Someone built that small platform to stand clear of water or waste, then left it behind. The clay kept the shape while memory faded, turning human cleverness into a quiet ghost inside the earth.

Originally recorded as a small area of a hurdle (exposed L 2.9m; Wth 2m) on the field surface which was being milled (Dunne 1999, 12, 99LBW0032A). Excavation revealed the hurdle to be aligned WSW-ENE and constructed of five sails with woven rods. It rested on an oak roundwood (L 2m), orientated ENE-WSW (Dunne 2002m, 206-7).
