What is recorded here

Located towards the W edge of Cloonahannagh bog, c. 30m SSW of platform (RO024-039----). This platform (L 1.95m; Wth 1.4m; T 0.07m) was visible on the field surface and was composed of poorly preserved longitudinally laid roundwood and brushwood underlain by transverse brushwood at the centre and on the N half of the site. The elements were densely laid up to 0.20m apart. The roundwood and the brushwood ranged from 0.06 to 0.07m and from 0.01 to 0.05m in diameter, respectively. The underlying peat was composed of moderately humified Sphagnum-rich peat with moderate Calluna and Eriophorum inclusions. Compiled by: Ros O Maoldúin/Michael Moore Date of upload: 15th April, 2011
