Castleboy holds a hidden pit circle, six magnetic arcs clustering three or four holes within twenty metres, waiting beneath the grass for someone brave enough to dig. Rath na Rí and Forradh already mark the land as a place where people set boundaries and buried purpose. The pits may have held ladders, water, offerings or tools for work we have forgotten. They are not phantom now, only patient, saving their shape in soil until human hands ask what they served.

Geophysical survey within Rath na Rí and W of the Forradh (ME031-033010-) identified at least six arcs of geophysical anomalies (Newman 1977, 88, figs 24, 25), but the evidence is too tenuous at the moment to conclusively identify all the individual monuments. This is described as a possible concentration of three or four pits in a limited area (diam. c. 20m) indicated by positive magnetic anomalies (ibid. 332).
