Investigations for the NE Gas Pipeline, Phase 2, in 1988 revealed a circular pit (diam. c. 0.32m, D 0.15m). It had a bowl-shaped profile. There were burnt one fragments in the fill (Gowen M, 1989b, 19).

A small pit-burial, likely dating to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, associated with simple inhumation or cremation practices. Its discovery during pipeline investigations highlights the presence of early human activity in the Richardstown area.
