No visible stones remain at Pillar Stones, though that name still stands on the old map. The place is a hidden southern edge beside the Barranahown River, where forgotten marks may have been lost beneath soil, roots or time.

In modern coniferous forest plantation, 210m S of Barranahown River that forms townland boundary with Moorestown. The most S of three standing stones (LI048-065002/004-) located in S quadrant of earthwork (LI048-065001-). Not depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. Annotated ‘Pillar Stones’ on the Cassini ed. OSi 6-inch map. No surface remains visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13.
