What is recorded here
No visible marker exists at the coordinates. The surveying archive and the visible landscape are not the same claim. The coordinate may be wrong, the feature may have vanished, or the name may point to a different place. Those are different errors and they need different solutions.
Marked only on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in italic lettering as a ‘Pile of Stones’. It is located on a rise of a broad plateau and on the unbuilt townland boundary between Meenagruan to the NE and Leckanarainey to the SW. This is a small modern pile of stones.
