An unnamed man may have stacked the stones on the broad plateau, marking the exact point where the Cullinboy and Gubinea boundary bends from southwest-northeast to north-northwest. The 1910 survey caught that quiet act in italic lettering, preserving a temporary human boundary long after the stones themselves changed.

Marked only on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in italic lettering as a ‘Pile of Stones’. It is located at a point where the unbuilt townland boundary between Cullinboy to the W and Gubinea to the E changes direction from SW-NE to the NNW direction proceeding N.
