Mourne’s red slopes still drop toward the sea like a wet cloth flung from a window. Percy French stood in that bare light, heard the shape of the line before the words, and gave the mountains a voice. The view did not need description; it only waited for someone brave enough to say it back.
The view from here inspired Percy French (1854-1920) composer and artist, to write the famous song - "Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea"
