Penlee Head is a prominent headland in Cornwall composed mainly of Devonian slate and schist, formed around 380 million years ago through regional metamorphism of sedimentary rocks. The area is notable for its dramatic coastal scenery and historical significance, including the site of the 1951 Penlee lifeboat disaster.
