A penitential station associated with early Christian pilgrimage practices, likely linked to the monastic traditions of Inis Oírr, part of the Aran Islands. These sites were used by pilgrims for prayer and acts of penance, often connected to the nearby churches or holy wells dedicated to saints such as Colmán or Cronán.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
