Pen Trum-gŵr rises to approximately 305 metres and is part of the undulating landscape of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range. Its name, meaning "Head of the Drummer," may reflect ancient folklore or occupational associations in the area. The hill contributes to the cultural and topographical character of Gwynedd's mountainous terrain.
