Pen Peles is a headland in Ceredigion composed primarily of Silurian greywacke and mudstone, formed around 440–420 million years ago during sedimentary deposition in a deep marine environment. The area is notable for its resistant rock formations that have withstood coastal erosion, contributing to the dramatic sea cliffs characteristic of the Ceredigion coastline.
