Park Bean Cove consists of Upper Devonian slate and sandstone, formed around 360 million years ago through sedimentary deposition and subsequent metamorphism. The cove is notable for its well-exposed coastal cliffs, which provide a classic example of the transition between the Penwith and Land's End granite complexes and the surrounding sedimentary rocks.
