Pal a’ Chlèirich

Bay

What is recorded here

Pal a’ Chlèirich is a coastal rock feature or sea cliff located in the Outer Hebrides, likely composed of Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rocks in the British Isles, dating back over 2.7 billion years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through intense heat and pressure and are notable for their durability and the insight they provide into early Earth geology.
