Oxnop Scar is a sea cliff composed primarily of Jurassic limestone, formed around 160 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The cliff is notable for its exposure of the Cleveland Ironstone Formation, which historically provided important iron ore deposits for the region's industrial development.
