Tobar Thomáis: A partly slab-lined well in the bank of a small stream. There is a vague tradition that this was a holy well (Ó Danachair 1960, 78). The above description is derived from J. Linked to Saint Thomas (Tobar Thomáis), the well may have been a site of pilgrimage or healing, as suggested by its name and the general tradition of holy wells in Irish folklore. Little specific local tradition remains documented, but such wells were often associated with miraculous cures or protective rituals.
